Send an e-mail to info@medscribers.com Otherwise send a fax to 516-486-2221. Immediately you will be allotted a specific customer id and the dial-n-dictate procedure will be sent to you by e-mail or fax. You may start using the service within few minutes
HOW DO I GET MY DICTATION TO YOU?

  • This is a dedicated computerized system that allows you to call in from any phone, including cellular, and dictate your documents and reports . We have a toll-free number that you can call any time. Our dial-n-dictate procedure is very physician-friendly and prompts are given for each step
  • We can provide digital handheld recorders.
  • We can also dial in to your server to retrieve dictations.
DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRIALS? DO I NEED TO CONTINUE AFTER TRIALS?

We provide a free trial service for one week (or 500 lines, whichever is greater). This service is purely on a non-obligatory basis. If you are not satisfied with our services, you are free to discontinue at any time after the trials.
HOW IS MY DICTATION PROCESSED?

When you sign up, you will be assigned to a medical transcriptionist, PR and Editor based on your specialty and your estimated dictation load. When you submit a dictation into our system, your assigned medical transcriptionists will automatically receive your dictation for transcription. Once they have returned the transcription, the assigned PR and then the Editor, with more than 10 years of medical transcription experience, will check the transcription for accuracy and make the transcription ready. The transcription is then forwarded to the predetermined destination.
WHAT TURNAROUND TIMES DO YOU OFFER?

The turnaround time that YOU want is what we guarantee to meet. Generally we offer two turnaround times to meet your needs, Stat and General. Stat files will be returned within 6 hours and General files within 24 hours.
WHAT IF I DICTATE OVER THE WEEKEND ?

WHAT CONSTITUTES A LINE?

We follow the definition devised by the American Association of Medical Transcriptionists (AAMT) for a line, which is used world wide as a standard. We count 65 characters as a line, where a character is defined as any letter, number or symbol necessary for the final appearance and content of a document .
DO YOU PROVIDE CUSTOM FORMATTING? CAN YOU USE MY NORMALS?

We use a default template with the following specifications: Margins: 1 inch all around Font: Times New Roman 11 pt Justification: Left If your desired format requires modification of any of these features, we can create it for you. We will request you to send a sample of each work type as an email attachment to info@medscribers.com
We will be happy to incorporate any standard formats or canned phrases you may routinely use in your dictation. Please send the text of your standard formats/canned phrases as an email attachment to standards formats info@medscribers.com
HOW DO I RECEIVE MY TRANSCRIPTIONS?

You can select one or more of these options

  • As an attachment to e-mail
  • Through ftp site
  • Downloading from our web data bank
  • By fax
  • By remote printer
Map your transcriptions using SSL on your computer
HOW DO I OPEN THE TRANSCRIPTIONS I DOWNLOAD?

The transcriptions are returned in an MS Word or WordPerfect or RTF (Rich Text Format) as required. This standard file type can be opened using virtually any word processing program, including Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Lotus, etc.
HOW LONG DO YOU STORE MY TRANSCRIPTION?

We store our client's transcription for at least 3 year to provide them with additional backup and support for their records. If requested, we will maintain them longer. Our active clients can request reprints, retransmission of specific documents without any extra charge.
HOW SECURE ARE MY TRANSCRIPTIONS WHEN THEY ARE TRANSMITTED VIA THE INTERNET?

All communication between your computer and our server is protected through the use of Secure Socket Layer encryption (SSL). This means that nobody can "listen in" on the conversation between those computers. This is the same level of security that large E-Commerce and banking sites use.
WHAT ABOUT THE SECURITY/PRIVACY OF PATIENT INFORMATION?

We are extremely concerned with the privacy of medical records. We adhere to all HIPPA and AAMT guidelines and recommendations. All files and transmissions are encrypted and password protected. All employees and contractors sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements. Every printed document that contains client/patient information is shredded and properly disposed of immediately after use.
CAN YOU ACCEPT AND HANDLE OUR OVERFLOW? OCCASIONAL AND SMALL VOLUMES?

If you are having in-house transcription facilities and do not want to disturb it, we can work with your staff to handle your overflow. There are many times that your staff cannot handle all of your work, due to vacations, illnesses or sudden increases in your patient load. We can have all of your templates set up on our system and you can call in when you need to.
WHAT ABOUT VOICE RECOGNITION?

This is an exciting and promising technology; but, to be honest, even the most expensive systems by leading companies are not "ready for primetime" for a Physician. They require a significant amount of extra work on the part of the physician and huge investment Right now, the cost in lost productivity time for the physician is far too much to be worthwhile.
